Biography

Awarded first prizes in Trumpet and Cornet from Le Conservatoire National de Région d’Amiens and La Ville de Paris, as well as the Prix d’honneur au Concours Européen de Trompette in 1998 and Premier Prix du Concours International de Benidorm (Spain) in 2004. Fabien Norbert performs with equal ease « classic » repertoire, contemporary music and jazz ; recitals with organ, piano, harp or percussion ; and as a soloist with an orchestra.

Fabien Norbert is Solo Principal Trumpet of Les Siècles, an orchestra created and conducted by François-Xavier Roth, where he plays both a « modern » trumpet and « historical » instruments. He is invited regularly to play with the SWR Sinfonieorchester of Baden-Baden and Freiburg (Germany), l’Ensemble Inter-Contemporain and l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France.

Furthermore, he is part of Ping Machine, a contemporary jazz ensemble whose recordings have won several awards from the specialized press, such as Le Choc de l’Année 2013 Jazz Magazine/Jazzman for its album « Encore », and Le Choc de l’Année 2016 for its two albums « Easy Listening » and « Ubik ».
